With the Championships about to begin here are some insights from championship week:
- Over $75,000 in gift cards will be paid out during the two championships
- 45 States are represented, including British Columbia and Ontario, Canada
- 155 2011 Major Champions are competing
- 29 former National Champions are in the field
- Eight 2010 National Champions Defend Title
- 500+ players will be competing in their first SNC/NC
- 15,000+ bottles of water were purchased for on course
- 1,000+ players in attendance – LARGEST IN TOUR HISTORY!
- 30+ Am Tour staffers are running Championship Week
- 2,000+ practice rounds of golf during the event
- 4,000+ competitive rounds of golf played during the event
- PGA Qualifying (Q-School) events are held here biannually (Norman Course)
- 4,000+ ice towels will be distributed during the championships
- $40,000+ in Callaway golf balls will be given out during the championships
Any chance of getting the prototype balls in the Welcome Pack? I've seen pictures of the new Hex balls. A 3 piece and a 5 piece ball will be out soon.
